Baptism, the gateway to life in the Spirit, is the first of three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation). In baptism, we die to sin and begin to live a new life with God as members of the Church, the Body of Christ.
We are “born of water and the Spirit” (John 3:5).
Infant Baptism is celebrated on Sundays after the last Mass.
Arrangements must be made after the birth and several weeks in advance. Call the Parish Office for more information.
Through Baptism, we become members of the Church and are consecrated to God for a particular purpose according to his will.
Parents pledge to bring their child to the faith until the child is able to freely claim the faith for him/herself. The sacrament is celebrated by either a priest or a deacon.
Adult Baptism ordinarily takes place at the Easter Vigil. Participants are prepared through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).
